The transition to parenthood is an overwhelming time. Many people are caught off guard by the identity transformation, exhaustion, and isolation that can accompany the joys and rewards of a new baby. The physical and emotional stressors of pregnancy and parenthood can trigger depression and anxiety disorders. They can also also contribute to problems such as marital conflict, substance abuse, rage, and withdrawal from family relationships. I am certified in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C) and provide evidence-based services for those that are anticipating parenthood, new parents, or grieving a loss.
